"Mommy!" you shouted, running into your parent's bedroom in the middle of the night. "Moooommy!"
Danni groaned, not quite awake until Rage nudged her. "Your turn..." he mumbled before he rolled over and went to sleep.
Your mom sighed and sat up so she could pull you onto the bed. "It's okay..." she mumbled as she held you and played with your hair, still not yet fully awake. "It was just a bad dream. You know they're not real. And you're safe in here with us."
"You promise?" you asked, eyes wide. "Pinky promise?"
"Pinky promise." Danni smiled and hooked her pinky with the tiny one you held out to her.
Suddenly, something grabbed you from behind. "The monster got me!" You shrieked, nearly peeing yourself in fear. But then you heard your dad laughing in your ear and saying something about being a kraken. "That's mean!" you cried out, rolling to face him. "You're a big meanie poo butt!"
"Calm down, Sweetie." Danni said softly, pulling you over to her. "Daddy's just cranky because you woke him up, and he gets mean when he's cranky. But I'm sure he's very sorry. Right?" You couldn't see, but you already knew the look she would be giving your dad. You didn't like that look, and you knew Rage didn't either.
"Yea... I'm sorry." he said, defeated. "Can we please just sleep now? I'm sooo tired."
You nodded, pulling his arm around you and your mom. "Nighty night..." you whispered, closing your eyes and soon falling asleep in between your parents.

I'm soooo sorry for not putting anything up lately. I've been trying to do better in school this semester, so I haven't had a chance to write as much. But at least I managed to post something! (and yes, I'm still working on the other stuff)
This is just a little thing I came up with since meeting Rage's girlfriend, Danni. I figured she'd be a sweet, comforting compliment to Rage's crazy antics. Because, although he's fun and we love him, sometimes we just need someone to tell him he's gone too far.

Great job, but if that was me I would have slapped him in the face..... Just saying....
